BIO/DATA CORPORATION, founded in 1969, pioneered the use of
optical and kinetic clot detection with the Coagulation Analyzer, Model
CA15.  The first automated platelet aggregometer, Platelet
Aggregation Profile, Model PAP-2, was introduced in 1974.

One year later, Bio/Data Corporation announced it’s second generation of instruments. The
first dual channel Coagulation Profiler, Model CP-8 , and began marketing a complete line of
aggregation reagents.  The first von Willebrand (vW) Factor Assay kit was launched soon
after.

During the 1980’s, Bio/Data Corporation released the original four
channel Platelet Aggregation Profiler, PAP-4 with an automated vW
Program and the PAP-4C capable of performing chromogenic assays
    with optional micro-volume adaptors.

Microfiltration was developed in 1986 for the use in the Microsample
Coagulation Analyzer, MCA 110.  This was the first analyzer to use
Microfiltration to produce plasma without centrifugation. Many reagents
and controls were also released for monitoring Thrombolytic Therapy
and for Lupus Anticoagulation Testing.

After two successful decades, the 1990's brought many more instruments along with
reagent kits.  The MCA 210 and 310 were introduced—these  analyzers were equipped with
veterinary capabilities and able to automate 97% of the routine laboratory workload.  The
PAP-4C and PAP-4CD were also launched.  In 1998, Bio/Data Corporation
completed the initial licensing and technology transfer agreement with
Diagnostic Products Corporation.

Bio/Data Corporation made many innovations since the millennium.
Bio/Data Corporation released upgraded software for the Platelet
Aggregation Profiler Series.  The development of IMIXX®, Vertical
Stirring Systems™, allows specimens to be stirred gently at slow
speeds, while completely mixing in 180 seconds. ISO 9001:2000 and
13485:2003 registrations were granted. Bio/Data received a Class II
medical device license from Health Canada, allowing Bio/Data to market products in
Canada’s ten provinces and three territories.

The Platelet Aggregation Profile, Model PAP-8E was introduced to the
market in 2004.  The PAP-8E provides 8 test channels, Graph Pad Prism®
Software, user selectable timers and templates.  vW Normal Control
Plasma was also added to Ristocetin CoFactor product line.

Bio/Data Corporation has also produced the first pre-analytical wall chart for platelet
aggregation testing, including patient preparation.  The wall chart serves as a great
reference tool to help ensure proper platelet aggregation testing.

PDQ™, Platelet Function Centrifuge, recently joined the Aggregation line of
Instruments, going hand in hand with the PAP-8E.  IGRIPP™, The Rotary
Gripper, has been added to Bio/Data’s Sample Preparation & Automation
    Technologies.
Today, we are developing new instruments, reagents and technologies for Clinical
Laboratories, Research, Analytical and Biotechnology Facilities, Sample Preparation
Laboratories, Laboratory Automation Processes and Clinical Research Trials.
