Bio/Data Corporation has developed a NEW System to make Mixing more
effective. Vertical Stirring results in chaotic mixing by the irregular movements
of the stir bar. This unique stirring action precludes the formation of isolated
mixing regions or foci. Vertical mixing moves the stir bar randomly through the
fluid using multiple magnetic fields, creating overlapping, chaotic and turbulent
mixing currents. Complete mixing or homogeneity occurs rapidly at low stirring
speeds. The IMIXX® method eliminates shear damage to cells or other fragile
reactants, air bubble artifacts or activation, and contamination from reusable
stir bars or impellers.
