    The platelet function tests are more difficult to manage because of the
    restrictions of sample collection, preparation and test methodology
    compared the normal laboratory test that only require collecting a
    specimen and sending it to the central laboratory.  Platelets must be
    tested within a short time frame.  This requires on site testing.
