AGGREGATION INSTRUMENTS
Bio/Data Corporation's line of Platelet Aggregation Profilers were developed to
provide medical professions with an easy to use and efficient platform for
reliable and repeatable platelet function testing.  Bio/Data's PAP-8E is a
modern laboratory instrument utilized for testing platelet function.  This Platelet
Aggregation Profiler provides test results that serve as a vital pathway
enabling medical professionals to diagnose various stages of hemostasis
disorders, including von Willebrand Disease and Glanzmann's Disease, as well
as to monitor the use of antiplatelet drugs like Plavix® and aspirin.

Bio/Data pioneered the routine use of platelet aggregometers for platelet
function testing in the clinical hemostasis laboratory.  The first model in the
series of Platelet Aggregation Profilers was introduced in 1972. Theses
aggregometers use light transmission based on Born's principle.  The test
menu for the PAP Series includes: routine platelet function tests, specialty test,
test to monitor antiplatelet therapy, von Willebrand factor activity, and
leukocyte aggregation.

The Data Management System accumulates results from known patients
(control samples), providing the laboratorian with a real time tool that assures
the test system is functioning properly for routine, special and user defined
tests.  This software provides the laboratory with data management capability
for reporting, archiving and data retrieval. Parameters including log phase,
primary and secondary slopes, final aggregation and disaggregation are
automatically calculated.  Additional features such as area under the curve
and maximum aggregation to the reported parameters, as well as four point
standard curves for the ristocetin cofactor activity.  The data management
module integrates patient demographics, test parameters and report
generation.  Laboratories can use standard test protocols, or create their own
tests and profiles.  Known (control) donor results can be identified and
maintained in a separate database.  GraphPad Prism software is preloaded on
the PAP-8E.  This software includes biostatiscal, pharmacology and quality
control functions which can facilitate simple data capture and are exportable to
spreadsheet, presentation, and other software applications.

The PDQ™, Platelet Function Centrifuge, was recently added to our Platelet
Aggregation line of products.  The PDQ™ accepts evacuated specimen
collection and aliquot tubes, and may be use as a companion to any light
transmission aggregometer engaged in platelet function testing. The primary
purpose of the PDQ™ is to centralize the sample preparation process adjacent
to the platelet aggregometer for specimen control and greater time efficiency.
